Chris May, Lead Instructor/Founder

Chris has over 20 years’ martial arts experience across multiple systems. For the past decade he has specialised in Medieval Martial Arts, which informed his later focus on WW2 close-quarters combat. He completed a WW2 combatives coaching course with Tommy Joe Moore and leads the club’s historical research and technical interpretation.

Davide Cramerotti, Instructor: York

Davide had a background in Hwa Rang Do and self-defence instruction before moving into Historical European Martial Arts. Over the last four years he has specialised in Fiore dei Liberi’s system and remains an active longsword competitor. He supports the practical interpretation and testing of WW2 combatives material, particularly in close-range and knife work.

Dr James Pritchett, Instructor: Hull

Dr James R Pritchett is a lecturer in War Studies and is involved in several living history projects. He contributes to the club’s instruction and historical interpretation and has studied traditional jujitsu, the same system used by W.E. Fairbairn. In 2025 he completed Tommy Joe Moore’s Project Victory WW2 combatives instructor course.

Mike Fisher, Instructor: Hull

Mike Taylor has a background in Eskrima and vast amounts of practical experience from his police work. He completed Tommy Joe Moore’s Project Victory coaching course with flying colours, and his real world expertise and experience is a valuable asset to the club when interpreting and teaching combatives.
